Why Hart County Atheists?
Hart County Atheists (HCA) was founded in late 2023 out of a
personal need for connection and authenticity that became
evident during the holidays.
Navigating life in a
religiously saturated environment, like Hart County, as a
non-believer is isolating. Finding community can not only be
difficult but also feel risky, especially if you're a
closeted atheist.
HCA exists to provide a safe and welcoming space for
atheists, agnostics, and secular individuals in Hart,
Franklin, and Elberton counties of Northeast Georgia.
Our mission and focus is on mutual support and
to foster meaningful community, promote open dialogue as a
group, and support one another in living freely and honestly
without religious expectation or pressure.
We host in-person meetups, but for those who prefer to remain anonymous or can't attend in person, we also maintain a private Discord group and Subreddit. If you're interested in joining, just submit the form on our homepage, and we'll be in touch.
